I'm Brazilian nurse, 26 years old, Catholic, newly married.
In 2023 I received Pedro Ballester’s prayercard, which is how I got to know him.
That same year, I went on an Opus Dei silent retreat, where I had the opportunity to listen to some extracts from his book on audio, which allowed me to become quickly acquainted with Pedro. In the audios I heard about his experiences with the nurses where he was hospitalised, and this made me even more attentive to his testimony.
I had brought some particular issues to pray about at the retreat, and one of them was the desire to do a Master's degree. I had recently left a specialisation incomplete in order to take a public examination. This caused me some concern, since I was working with people who were much more professionally developed in terms of qualifications. I also wondered how I could do a good apostolate and be taken seriously with so little professional prestige compared to my colleagues.
I prayed to God to give me the means. Also during the retreat, while listening to one of the audios, Pedro spoke about how seriously he took his studies and how important it was to study in order to have professional prestige, because a good apostolate also depended on that.
At that moment, I began to ask for my Master's degree to be approved through Pedro Ballester's intercession. I went through all the stages of the selection process (tests, interviews, submitting the project) incessantly asking him.. All without the help of reviewers or professors, without any kind of sponsorship. On 12 December 2023 I was approved.
I have no doubt that Pedro, my great friend, miraculously granted me this grace.
